What if do you plan to come to the capital of Armenia and want to implement a “maximum program” for visiting sights and interesting places in just 5 days? Where do you have to visit in Yerevan in 5 days?

Yerevan is one of the oldest cities in the world, with more than 2,800 years of history. So it is not surprising that there are many historical and architectural monuments (some of which have been included in the UNESCO World Heritage Fund) in the city itself and in its surroundings. Archaeological items, unique buildings and temples, as well as beautiful medieval churches – all this can be found next to the modern parts of the very center of the Armenian capital.

      Museums and monuments

5 days, of course, is not enough to visit all the museums and monuments of Yerevan, however, you can choose what is interesting for you most of all from the assortment of the proposed excursions. Among the most important museums in the capital, you can mention the National Historical Museum, which includes more than 400,000 exhibits, the Genocide Museum, located on a hilltop with the eponymous memorial complex, the Museum of Modern Art with, the Matenadaran, a repository of unique ancient manuscripts, books and documents. An interesting place to visit is the Erebuni Archaeological Museum, located on the excavations of the Erebuni Fortress, which is considered to be the “ancestor” of modern Yerevan.

      Restaurants and clubs

The original Armenian cuisine, perhaps, can rightly be called a full-fledged local “attraction”. A large selection of Armenian and Caucasian dishes will be offered to you practically in any restaurant in Yerevan. Visit one of the many restaurants (“Caucasus”, “Genatsvale”, “Our Village”, “Caucasian Captive”, etc.) or cafes, located in the center of the city, and fully enjoy the rich taste and aroma! Various Yerevan clubs can offer an interesting and memorable pastime. Among the most famous are the jazz club “Malkhas”, the music clubs “Mezzo”, “Kami”, the wine shop-cafe “In vino”, the multi-profile club “The Club”, the youth favorite “Stop Club”, the alternative cafes “Aeon”, “The Loft” and many others.

Excursions to the most interesting places in Yerevan and the surrounding

During your 5-day trip, you can go on a sightseeing tour in Yerevan with an English/Russian-speaking guide. Such an excursion will allow you to see the most beautiful and interesting places of the city (Republic Square, Northern Avenue, Cascade, etc.), and find out facts about the history of each of them. Some of the important historical and cultural attractions are located quite close to Yerevan. So even with the most limited program, you can see the pagan temple Garni, the cave monastery Geghard, the ruins of the “celestial angels cathedral” Zvartnots or visit Echmiadzin Mother Cathedral.
