Arrival - Walking city tour
Transfer from Zvartnots airport to the hotel.
Make walking city tour, during which you will discover the capital of Armenia -Yerevan. The tour will pass through the main streets where you can appreciate the unusual architecture of the city. Walk from the hotel to the Cascade complex, where the Gerard Gafeshchyan Center for Contemporary Art is located. Then a visit to the building of the Opera and Ballet Theater, Swan Lake, Aboyan street, and the tour will end at Republic Square - the heart of Yerevan.
Back to hotel.
Overnight: Yerevan
Yerevan - Garni - Geghard - Yerevan
Breakfast at the hotel. Tour to Garni,the only pagan temple left in Armenia. It is a blend of Greco-Roman and Armenian styles built by King Trdat I in the first century A.D. and dedicated it to the God of Sun. Then comes Geghard monastery (13th century) carved out of the adjacent mountain and initially called Ayrivank (the Monastery of the Cave ), which is included in the World Heritage Site. Due to the fact that the famous spear, with which the Roman soldier wounded Jesus, was kept here for 500 years, the monastery was called Geghardavank (the Monastery of the Spear). Back to Yerevan.
Overnight: Yerevan
Yerevan - Areni - Noravank - Shaki waterfall - Tatev - Yerevan
Breakfast at the hotel. Tour to Areni, famouse for its wines. We will have a digostation here. Tour to Noravank monastery (13th-century), which is best known for its two-storey Surb Astvatsatsin church (to get to the second floor one need to take the narrow stone-made staircase jutting out from the face of the building) and the breathtaking view to the gorge. Then comes Tatev Monastery (9th century). When in Tatev monastery one can enjoy the splendid architecture of the monastic complex, the breathtaking view to the deep gorge, see the oil press facility built in the 17th century. And last but not least, to get to the monastery one will need to take the “Tatever” cable car, which was recorded by Guinness World Records as the longest non-stop double track cable car. Back to Yerevan.
Overnight: Yerevan
Yerevan - Lake Sevan (Sevanavank) - Dilijan - Haghartsin - Yerevan
Breakfast at the hotel. Transfer to Lake Sevan. Sevan is the largest lake in Armenia and is located at an altitude of 1900m above sea level. Visit to the Sevanavank monastery complex, located on the Sevan peninsula. A beautiful view of Sevan opens from here.
Transfer to the resort town of Dilijan. Dilijan is a green city surrounded by the forests of the Dilijan National park. Visit to the Old Dilijan complex. Transfer to Haghartsin monastery and make an excursion.
Return to Yerevan.
Yerevan - Etchmiadzin - Zvartnots Cathedral - Departure
Breakfast at the hotel. Tour to Etchmiadzin, one of the three saint places in Armenia, the center of Armenian Apostolic church. We will visit Mother Cathedral, St. Gayane and St. Hripsime churches. Our last stop will be Zvartnots Cathedral, a 7th-century cathedral. Now in ruins, it is located at the edge of Etchmiadzin. Cathedral and Churches of Etchmiadzin and the Archaeological Site of Zvartnots are included in the UNESCO World Heritage List. Transfer to Zvartnots airport.
