Please note: The Wings of Tatev ropeway ride is optional and is not included in the tour price. Only a one-way ropeway ticket is available within this group tour; a round-trip ride cannot be accommodated in the tour program. The order of stops may change depending on the queue at the ropeway.
• In case of rain or snow, the visit to Khndzoresk may be replaced with an alternative stop for safety reasons.
Itinerary
1 09:00 Lunch Stop
Enjoy a break for lunch with time to relax and try Armenian dishes before continuing the tour. The cost of lunch is not included in the tour price.
2 11:00 Shaki Waterfall
Shaki Waterfall is a picturesque natural landmark in Armenia’s Syunik region, near the town of Sisian. Water cascades over a rocky ledge into a small gorge, surrounded by rugged cliffs and greenery. A short walk leads to the waterfall, where visitors can enjoy the scenery, listen to the rushing water, and take photos before continuing the journey.
3 12:15 Tatev Monastery and Wings of Tatev Cable Car
Tatev Monastery stands high above the Vorotan Gorge, surrounded by the dramatic mountain scenery of Syunik. This medieval complex was an important centre of spiritual life and learning in Armenia. Explore its historic churches and stone courtyards, with sweeping views of the gorge below. For a different perspective, take an optional ride on the Wings of Tatev (“Tatever”) cable car and admire the landscape from above.

4 15:35 Khndzoresk Cave Village and Bridge
Old Khndzoresk is a historic cave village nestled along the slopes of a dramatic gorge in Armenia’s Syunik region. Its rock-cut dwellings offer a glimpse into a community that once lived within the cliffs. Walk across the suspension bridge for views of the cave settlement and surrounding landscape.
Please note: Reaching the bridge involves descending and climbing back up numerous steps. In rainy or snowy weather, this stop may be replaced with an alternative destination.

Enjoy a break for meal with time to relax and try Armenian dishes before continuing the tour. The cost of lunch is not included in the tour price.

Visit a local winery in Areni, a village in Armenia’s Vayots Dzor region known for its winemaking traditions. Discover the native Areni grape and learn about the region’s wine heritage. How early should I arrive before departure?
Please arrive 15 minutes before the start time. Seats are not pre-assigned, so coming a bit early is a good idea.

Yes, this is a full-day southern route from 07:00 to 21:30. The group visits several locations in the Syunik direction during the day.
