1. Hovhannavank
The long historical path of Hovhannavank, founded in the 4th century, reaches the 13th century, the end of the construction of the monastery complex, and reaches the present day in a standing state. The oldest church is from the 6th century, St. Karapet. According to tradition, one of the relics of Hovhannes the Baptist is located in Hovhanavank. The primary and large structure is from the 13th century, St. Hovhannes Karapet, 1221.
2. Lori Fortress
The jewel of many forts and castles in Armenia is the Lori fortress. This developed medieval fortress city was a political and commercial center. Indeed, being built in an impregnable position, it was inaccessible to enemies and inviolable. The fortress, with walls up to 20 meters wide and 25 meters high, was also provided with secret passages, with only one main entrance.
3. Dendropark
Since 1931, the Gyulagarak Dendropark has been cultivated with more than 500 plant species. The Polish engineer Edmond Leonowicz founded the Dendropark that year. Almost half of the 35 ha forest is natural. Besides the five famous sequoias, many other plant species from the Yerevan Botanical Garden and other countries are present.
