Yerevan is a city located on many high and small hills. The locals are quite familiar with the expression “go up” or “go down” to some part of the city, but this may sound very unusual for visitors and tourists. However, it is because of this uneven relief in the city that you can find many places from where a stunning view of the streets of the capital of Armenia opens. Here you can enjoy the beautiful panorama and take beautiful pictures that will stay in your memory for a long time as a trip.
The Cascade complex
The Cascade complex is one of the most favourite places for tourists in Yerevan. Climbing up the steps of the complex, you can see original works of modern art on display right in the open air. From each subsequent level of the Cascade, you will have an even more interesting panorama of the centre of Yerevan. By the way, the observation deck, which is located at the very top of the complex, is worth visiting not only during the day but also late in the evening or at night – the view of the city, flooded with thousands of night lights, is really impressive.
Matenadaran Institute of Ancient Manuscripts
In the very centre of the city, at the beginning of Mesrop Mashtots Avenue, there is the Matenadaran Institute of Ancient Manuscripts. This is one of the main museums in the capital of Armenia, where you most likely want to go on an excursion. By the way, you can stay at the entrance to Matenadaran for a short while, because from here you can see a good view of Mashtots Avenue (the central street of the city) and its environs.
Victory Museum
One of the most original museums in Yerevan is the Victory Museum, located in the park of the same name, dedicated to the victory in the Great Patriotic War. The uniqueness of the museum lies in the fact that it is located inside the pedestal of the statue of Mother Armenia – the symbolic protector of the country and the keeper of the world. And also from here, you can admire the city panorama, both in the daytime and in the evening.
Yerevan Brandy Factory “Ararat”
If you decide to visit the legendary Yerevan Brandy Factory “Ararat”, then you will have another opportunity to take photos against the backdrop of the panorama. The buildings of the factory are located on a hill, right at the entrance to the “Ararat” museum, an incredible view of the gorge of the Hrazdan River and the rocky slopes descending to it opens.
The view of the Kievyan bridge
By the way, this picturesque gorge passes through several districts, literally “cutting” the city in two. You can admire its natural beauties, for example, from the Victory Bridge or the Kievyan (Kievsky) Bridge. In the immediate vicinity of the Kievyan bridge, there is one of the city parks, where you can sit in cosy cafes or right on the green lawns and fully enjoy both the view of the gorge and a pleasant rest.
