Within the framework of the tour we will go to Henevank, which is located on the right bank of Dzoraget river, to the east from Kurtan village of Lori region.
According to the inscription on the drum, the church was repaired in 1144 by Smbat Orbelian. XII-XIII centuries Hnevank was Chalcedonian.
According to the inscription western gateway to the church was built in 1186-1206.
We’ll visit St. Astvatsatsin Church, located in the south-west of the village of Kurtan in the Lori region. It was built in the 6th century.
The Surb Astvatsatsin church of Kurtan is one of the few monuments that clearly show the transition from the 5th-century architectural forms of Armenia to the “classic” forms of the 7th century.
The next stop will be Arjavovit (Arjovit), which is distinguished among smaller churches in the early medieval Armenian architecture. St. Gevorg Church, located in the north-western part of the village, built in the first half the VI century.
ATTENTION, the tour has a hiking trail, about 5 km.
