Sevan, Dilijan, Haghartsin, Goshavank, Lake Parz

Lake Sevan is Armenia’s largest lake, situated at around 1,900 metres above sea level. Surrounded by mountains, it is known for its freshwater scenery and waters that shift from deep blue to turquoise with the changing light. During this stop, enjoy panoramic views of the lake and its surrounding landscape.

Sevanavank Monastery stands on the Sevan Peninsula, overlooking Lake Sevan and the surrounding mountains. Founded in the 9th century, the monastery is known for its two surviving churches, built from dark volcanic stone. A climb up the stone steps leads to the monastery, where visitors can explore its historic architecture and enjoy panoramic views across the lake.

Take a break during the tour to enjoy a meal  before continuing the journey. Meals are at your own expense.

Goshavank Monastery is a medieval monastic complex in the village of Gosh, surrounded by the forested hills of Tavush. Founded in the late 12th century, it became an important centre of learning and is closely associated with the Armenian scholar Mkhitar Gosh. Explore its stone churches and intricately carved khachkars, which reflect the craftsmanship of medieval Armenia.

Haghartsin Monastery is a medieval monastic complex nestled in the forested mountains near Dilijan. Built mainly between the 10th and 13th centuries, it features stone churches, a historic refectory, and intricately carved architectural details. Its woodland setting offers a peaceful backdrop for discovering Armenia’s religious and cultural heritage.

Lake Parz is a small mountain lake surrounded by the forests of Dilijan National Park. Its calm waters reflect the surrounding trees, creating a picturesque setting that changes with the seasons. Enjoy a walk along the lakeside, admire the woodland scenery, and take a relaxing break in nature.

The Old Dilijan Complex on Sharambeyan Street offers a glimpse into the town’s traditional character. Its restored buildings, wooden balconies, and stone façades reflect Dilijan’s historic architecture. Stroll along the cobbled street, browse local crafts and souvenirs, and enjoy the atmosphere of this charming corner of the town.
