About this video

Trchkan Waterfall is one of Armenia's most picturesque waterfalls. It lies on the border of Shirak and Lori provinces, on the Chichkan River, a left tributary of the Pambak. The Chichkan rises on the north-eastern slopes of the Shirak Mountain Range at an elevation of 2,250 metres and is 29 km long. At about 25 metres high, Trchkan is the tallest and most water-abundant waterfall in Armenia, and locals also call it Chran. The waterfall drew national attention in 2011, when there were plans to build a hydropower plant upstream; thanks to a united civic protest, the construction was halted. Travellers come here to see the country's tallest waterfall. See Trchkan Waterfall for yourself on a tour with ONE WAY Tour.
