About this video

Trchkan is one of Armenia's most picturesque waterfalls. It lies on the border of Shirak and Lori provinces, on the Chichkan River, a left tributary of the Pambak. The Chichkan rises on the northeastern slopes of the Shirak Range at an elevation of 2,250 metres and is 29 km long. At about 25 metres high, Trchkan is the tallest and most water-abundant waterfall in Armenia; locals also call it Chran. The waterfall drew national attention in 2011, when a hydropower plant was planned upstream, and construction was halted thanks to a united civic protest. Travellers come here to see Armenia's tallest waterfall with their own eyes. See Trchkan Waterfall on a tour with ONE WAY Tour.
