During this tour we’ll discover the hidden corners of Vayots Dzor. Our first stop will be in the village of Martiros, from where we will start the first part of our walk to St. Astvatsatsin Church. The unique chapel dug on the slope of Mount Nazar is also known as “Martirosats Monastery”, “Martiros Monument”. Our next direction is Shatin village, from where we will walk along the beautiful paths of Vayots Dzor to Shativank. This remarkable monastic complex (monastery) has been not only a place of prayer and communion, but also an important cultural and educational center for a long time, and at the time of the threat to his country, guaranteed the security of the people due to his inviolability.
PS: The total length of the hike (walk) is about 16 km. Participants are advised to be sportive, with comfortable shoes, warm clothes, wearing a protective cap, and having the necessary food and water for one day.
