During the tour, we will discover the city of Etchmiadzin, which is the spiritual center of Armenian Christianity. First, we will visit Etchmiadzin Cathedral, which is considered the oldest temple in the world and is included in the UNESCO World Heritage List. Then we will visit Saint Gayane Church, which fascinates visitors with its architectural composition. Next, we will visit Saint Hripsime Church.
This wonder of the 7 th century is dedicated to Saint Hripsime, one of the martyred virgins in the early period of Christianity in Armenia. Our next stop will be the Zvartnots Cathedral. According to historical sources, the name of the temple originates from the ancient Armenian word “zvartun”, which means “angel”, in other words, “Angel’s Nest”.
