In the Footsteps of Gladzor University

The tour follows the traces of Gladzor University, one of the important educational centres of medieval Armenia, through the Vayots Dzor region.

First, at the Yeghegnadzor Regional Museum, you get acquainted with the region's history and cultural heritage. Then come the Saint Hakob Church of Vernashen and Tanahat Monastery, sites connected with the history of Gladzor University, and the last stop is Areni Winery, where you learn about the traditions of Armenian winemaking and the wine culture of Vayots Dzor.

The price for one adult is 7,500 AMD, whatever the language of the guide.

The price includes guide service and transport.

The entrance fee to the Yeghegnadzor Regional Museum, 1000 AMD, is not included, and neither are meals. The fee is usually paid in cash on site, or you may skip the visit and wait for the group outside. You can bring your own food or pay for meals on site.

The tour is guided in Armenian; if there are foreign participants, it may be conducted in two languages. Our guides are local experts familiar with the history, culture and the sites you visit.

Yes, there are no age restrictions. Children aged 0-3 go free, children aged 3-6 get a 50% discount, and from age 7 the full price applies.

Yes, groups of 5 or more people get 500 AMD off per person.

The tour runs on a comfortable minivan or bus, depending on the group size. The vehicle is fully heated in winter; there is usually no Wi-Fi on board, but mobile internet works on most of the route.

Free cancellation no later than 24 hours before departure. If you cancel later, the money is not refunded.

In case of severe weather, the tour may be postponed or its cost refunded.

To book, we need your phone number and the full names of all participants; bookings are accepted until the day before the tour, but we recommend booking early. Payment is made in advance to confirm the booking, by card or in cash at the office, or by bank transfer.
