"The Mother Armenia monument, created by sculptor Ara Harutyunyan in 1967, is located in Victory Park. It stands on a pedestal designed by architect Rafael Israelyan, built from finely polished black tuff stone, and consists of three interior floors. The model for the statue was educator Eugenia Muradyan. The statue depicts a standing woman holding a sword in its sheath (11 meters) and a shield at her feet. It symbolizes the strength and grandeur of the motherland, the resilience of Armenian women, and their collective spirit. The statue is made of copper, standing 22 meters tall. The dimensions and design of the pedestal determine the monument’s monumental scale, cubic volumes, and distinct linear outlines."

The Mother Armenia monument dominates the city skyline and is visible from various parts of Yerevan, as it is positioned on one of the city's highest points.

Before the Mother Armenia statue was installed, the pedestal held a 17-meter bronze statue of Joseph Stalin, created by sculptor Sergey Merkurov. The statue was dismantled in 1962.

In contrast to its cold, rectangular exterior, the pedestal’s interior is designed as a three-story Armenian domed church, resembling the Saint Hripsime Church in Etchmiadzin. Since 1970, the pedestal has housed the Armenia in the Great Patriotic War (1941–1945) museum, which was renamed the Mother Armenia Military Museum in 1995."
