The Kievian Bridge is built over the Hrazdan River, replacing an old bridge that previously existed at the site. For this reason, it is also called the Great Hrazdan Bridge. As an extension of Kievian Street, it serves as an important connection between the city center and the administrative districts of Arabkir, Ajapnyak, and Malatia-Sebastia. The bridge was constructed in 1956 based on the design of Yerevan’s chief architect (1950-1959), Grigor Aghababyan.
