Swan Lake is situated near Al. Spendiaryan National Academic Opera and Ballet Theater, at the lower part of the Liberty Square. It was built in 1963. Swan Lake was created by architect Gevorg Musheghyan. The area of the lake is 2490 square meters. A part of the lake serves as an iceskating rink since 2005.
The well-established transport infrastructure of Armenia allows to get to Swan Lake by a private car or with the help of various travel companies which offer regular excursions and tours to different sights of the country. Due to the geographical location of Swan Lake the trip will not seem long.
The high season in Armenia lasts for a long time due to the pleasant climate conditions. Warm days in Armenia start in March and last until late autumn; winter is usually snowless and not long. The high precipitation season is variable. The tourist season for Swan Lake depends on the weather conditions.
The lake was named after the ballet “Swan Lake” composed by Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky.
A monument to Arno Babajanyan is situated on the territory of Swan Lake.
