Sevan National Park is a protected area in the northern part of the Armenian volcanic plateau, in Gegharkunik province, about 60 km from Yerevan. The lands and property of the coastal economy of Lake Sevan have also been given to the park. The economic zones are located in the following sections: Sevan city to Tsovagyugh, from Lchashen to Hayravank, from Noratus to Tsakqar River, from Argichi River to Tsovak Village and from Geghamasar River to Artanish Peninsula, as well as on the South-Wester slopes of Areguni.
The well-established transport infrastructure of Armenia allows to get to National Park Sevan by a private car or with the help of various travel companies which offer regular excursions and tours to different sights of the country. Due to the geographical location of National Park Sevan the trip will not seem long.
The high season in Armenia lasts for a long time due to the pleasant climate conditions. Warm days in Armenia start in March and last until late autumn; winter is usually snowless and not long. The high precipitation season is variable. The tourist season for National Park Sevan depends on the weather conditions.
Thera are about 60 plant species in the Sevan National Park and its protected surroundings, which are used or can be used as medicinal herbs. About 100 species of herbs are considered edible.
