The idea of Northern Avenue was already processed by Alexander Tamanyan in 1924 and it became an inseparable part of the master plan of Yerevan. The avenue started at Tumanyan street and continued to the Republic Square. The buildings were designed to be built on a suitable height according to the size of Yerevan.
The well-established transport infrastructure of Armenia allows to get to Northern Avenue by a private car or with the help of various travel companies which offer regular excursions and tours to different sights of the country. Due to the geographical location of Northern Avenue the trip will not seem long.
The high season in Armenia lasts for a long time due to the pleasant climate conditions. Warm days in Armenia start in March and last until late autumn; winter is usually snowless and not long. The high precipitation season is variable. The tourist season for Northern Avenue depends on the weather conditions.
A team of architects, under the leadership of Narek Sargsyan, worked on the project. According to the project, the length of the Northern Avenue is more than 500 meters.
North Avenue was officially opened on November 16, 2007.
