The village of Herher is located in Vayots Dzor province in Armenia. Herher and its surroundings have very beautiful nature. Many foreigners have called it a “Paradise on the Earth”. The oldest structure of the monastery is the church of St. Sion, which was built of coarse sandstone. The exterior of the church is unique in Armenian architecture. The church has entrances from the western and southern sides.
The well-established transport infrastructure of Armenia allows to get to Herher monastery by a private car or with the help of various travel companies which offer regular excursions and tours to different sights of the country. Due to the geographical location of Herher monastery the trip will not seem long.
