Near the Tsamakaberd quarter of Sevan, 2.5-3 km to the east, there is a small chapel, which locals call “Mashtotsner”. The name Mashtots is related to the Catholicos Mashtots A Yeghivardeci, who came on the aforementioned island of Sevan, to flutter in the mountains. Tradition says that the water flowing past the chapel has healing abilities. The chapel overlooks the side of little Sevan, and the opposite is a dense forest located on the slopes of Mashtotsner.
The total length of the hike is about 6 km:
