The House-Museum of Vazgen Sargsyan, a devoted Armenian national, military leader, and public-political figure, is located in the village of Ararat, in the Ararat Province. The house-museum was opened on March 5, 2001, and is dedicated to Vazgen Sargsyan's life and activities. The museum presents the history of Vazgen Sargsyan's life and biography — as a writer, soldier, commander (sparapet), and statesman. In the courtyard of the house-museum stands the bust of Vazgen Sargsyan, created by sculptor Kamsar Ghazaryan.

Every year on March 5, Vazgen Sargsyan's birthday, various events are organized at the museum.

Literature played an exceptionally important role in Vazgen Sargsyan's life. His works were published in the magazines ""Spring"" and ""Soviet Literature"", as well as in the newspapers ""The Working Woman of Armenia"" and ""Literary Newspaper"".

On August 14, 1997, Vazgen Sargsyan swam across Lake Sevan from one shore to the other, covering a 7 km distance in 4 hours and 50 minutes.
