About this tour

We are going to see one of the most beautiful gorges of Vayots Dzor.

During the tour, we will cover a hike of approximately 14 km. Relative height: 420m. Participants are advised to wear hiking shoes, comfortable clothes, wear a protective hat, goggles, have enough food and water for 1 day, warm outerwear.

Itinerary

1 Stop 1 Gnishiki gorge

We will start the hike from the village of Gnishik in Vayots Dzor and we will walk through a deep and impressive gorge, many beautiful views await us. On the way we will see khachkars of the 13th century.

2 Stop 2 Noravank Monastery

We will continue the hike down the valley to Noravank. Medieval Armenian taste and architectural talent were united in Noravank. Being founded in the 9th century, this monastery reached its development in the 13th-14th centuries. Surrounded by high red-colored mountains and built of stone taken from the rocks, Noravank harmoniously complements the local landscape, remaining unique in its kind.
