Discover southern Armenia with a relaxing and eventful two-day journey. This tour combines mountainous nature, medieval architecture, and local color, allowing you to explore the region’s culture and history in a single trip.
The road leads to the heart of Syunik. You will visit Tatev Monastery, a major 9th-century spiritual and scientific center, which you will reach via the world’s longest reversible aerial tramway (5.7 km). From the viewpoints of Halidzor and Goris, you will enjoy panoramic views of the Vorotan Gorge, and in Old Khndzoresk, you will cross a 160-meter suspension bridge to the rock-hewn cave city.
The next stops of the tour are devoted to urban culture, waterfalls, and ancient winemaking. In Goris, you will get acquainted with the city’s unique architecture and visit the Axel Bakunts House-Museum. Then you will be in Vorotnavank and Suni Monastery, relax near one of Syunik’s natural monuments, Shaki Waterfall, and conclude the journey in Vayots Dzor, in Old Areni and the Areni-1 Cave, where traces of the world’s oldest winery have been preserved.
This program is for those who want to see the most important sites of southern Armenia in a short time—without rushing, in a meaningful and comfortable format.
