Artavazik Church is located 1 km east of the village of Byurakan. The church is a 7th-century structure built from red and black tuff stone. It belongs to the type of small, single-apse churches and features a cruciform plan with a dome. There are no mentions of the church in historical sources, and unfortunately, the stone inscriptions have not been preserved. The church is also known by the names Saint John and Holy Mother of God. In medieval Armenian ecclesiastical architecture, Artavazik Church holds a special place, standing out for its distinctive and original design. Today, the church is in a partially ruined state.
