"Tsaghats Kar Monastic Complex was built in the 10th century, during the Bagratuni dynasty, and served as an important medieval educational center, where painting was taught. The monastery was renovated in 2013. One theory suggests that its name originates from ""Tsaghkats Kar"", meaning ""blooming stone"". The complex consists of two groups of structures, located about 200 meters apart, categorized into eastern and western sections. The main church, St. Karapet, is a domed church with an internal cross-shaped design. It is built from finely cut basalt and is richly decorated with carvings. The windows and entrance in particular have a special splendor. Tsaghats Kar Monastery is a valuable example of Armenia’s medieval religious heritage, closely linked to the Orbelian dynasty and the development of Armenian spiritual life."
