Facts

fun-fact1
According to legend, there was a school in the village where Catholicos Hovhan Odznetsi was educating his seven students. One day, a dragon appeared on the mountainside, and its terrifying roar turned everything around to stone. Hovhan sent each of his students to find out what had happened, but none of the seven returned, having been devoured by the dragon. Hovhan himself left the school to search for his students and came face to face with the giant beast, ready to take its next victim. Hovhan Odznetsi struck the dragon’s head with his staff, declaring: ""Turn to stone, let water flow from your heart, become a cure for the sick!"" Immediately, the wise saint’s words came true: the dragon turned to stone, and water began to flow from within it.
