During this special hike, we will visit Ghuk Monastery, which is located in the Kotayk region. The hike will start from Arzakan village.
Ghuk Monastery is located about 3-4 km northwest of the village, in the upper part of a gorge between two mountains, in a dense forest. Only a dilapidated church of the monastery dating from the XIII-XIV centuries has been preserved.
Ghuk Monastery is one of the least studied Armenian monuments.
P.S. The total length of the walking distance is from 8 to 9 km. Be sure to be in warm clothes, comfortable sports shoes (the second pair is desirable). You need food and water for 1 day. People with breathing and pressure problems are not recommended to take part.
