It is expected a unique walking trip through the forests of Tavush region where besides the wonderful beauty of nature we will also see and admire the beauty of two magnificent monasteries in Tavush region.
At first we will be in surrounded by mountains and built in the 12-13 centuries Nor Varagavank monastery where that day pilgrims from different places usually gather. The monastery got its name from famous Varagavank in Vaspurakan whose leader after having ruined it by Mongols, moved the replies kept in the monastery included the pieces of St. Khachapayt that were brought by the virgins of St. Hripsime.
After getting acquainted with its history and architecture, we are expected to have an incredible walking trip through the forest trails to one of the remarkable monasteries named Srvegh monastery. We will continue our tour through the forest of oak and beech trees where we will see wonderful glades, solitary rocks and glassy lakes. The length of hiking is 15 km. Our next stop will be famous Srvegh monastery (13 century), made of bricks and situated in the hillside of the wooded space. Srvegh monastery has emphasized symmetries, dome with peaked hood and according to this by folk etymology is explained the name Srvegh.
In the end we will be in Aygehovit village and from there will return to Yerevan.
