The 8-day excursion program of the group tour to France offers the opportunity to discover different faces of France in a single journey — from the iconic sights of Paris and the historic castles of the Loire Valley to the old quarters of Lyon, Dijon, fairytale Colmar, and the heart of Champagne — Reims. The program combines organized excursions, free time, and the possibility of additional visits to Versailles, Normandy, and Strasbourg.
Itinerary
Day 1
1 Stop 1 Arrival in Paris
Meet and greet at the airport by a Europe Voyage company representative with the appropriate sign.
During the excursion, we will see:
• the snow-white Sacré-Cœur Basilica,
• the sculpture "The Man Who Walks Through Walls",
• the Wall of Love,
• Dalida's house,
• the old windmills of Montmartre,
• the world-famous "Moulin Rouge" cabaret.
If desired, an optional excursion to Montmartre, the highest district of Paris, is offered. Montmartre was for many years a favorite neighborhood of artists and the creative bohemia. They often gathered in the local cafés, many of which still preserve signs bearing the names of famous painters, including Monet and Renoir.
Optionally, the purchase of tickets for a cruise on the Seine River is offered. Afterwards, a visit to the "Fragonard" perfume factory.
Transfer and accommodation at a hotel in Paris or the surrounding area. Free time. Overnight stay at a hotel in Paris.
Day 2
2 Stop 1 Paris City Tour
Breakfast at the hotel. Free time. Then, a sightseeing tour of Paris, during which you will have the opportunity to admire the city's most famous symbols and attractions: the Louvre, Bastille Square, the Opera building, Notre-Dame Cathedral of Paris, and other well-known sites. In the second half of the day, an optional excursion to Versailles, the former residence of the kings of France, is offered. During the excursion, we will see the apartments of the "Sun King" and the Queen, the Halls of Hercules, Venus, Mars, Diana, and Apollo, the magnificent royal chapel, and, of course, the masterpiece of architect Jules Hardouin-Mansart — the Hall of Mirrors. Optional excursion — "Evening Paris"
This additional excursion will give you unforgettable impressions. In the evening, we will stroll through illuminated Paris, where every corner of the city seems to come alive under thousands of lights. We will admire the Arc de Triomphe bathed in magical lights, pass along the legendary Champs-Élysées, feel the breath of history at Place de la Concorde, and admire the elegant Place Vendôme with its majestic column. We will visit one of the most luxurious districts of Paris, where the legendary Ritz Hotel is located, as well as the tomb of Napoleon Bonaparte. And, of course, we will enjoy the magnificent view from the observation deck, where the Eiffel Tower will open before us in all its splendor, sparkling like "splashes of champagne".
Day 3
3 Stop 1 Free day in Paris
Breakfast at the hotel. Free time. Day 4
4 Stop 1 Loire Valley
Breakfast at the hotel. Journey to the Loire Valley. Visit to the famous castles that once belonged to the kings of France and are considered among the country’s most important historical and architectural landmarks. Then, wine tasting of the Loire Valley wines. Continuing the journey, we depart for the city of Bourges. After arrival, a walk through the city’s historic center with the group guide. We will get acquainted with the unique atmosphere of Bourges’ old town and its historical architecture. Accommodation at a hotel in Bourges. Overnight in Bourges
Day 5
5 Stop 1 Lyon
Breakfast at the hotel. Departure to Lyon. After arrival, a sightseeing tour of Lyon’s Old Town, which was formed mainly in the 15th–17th centuries. During the excursion, we will get acquainted with the city’s rich history and architecture, visit the famous traboules—the old secret passageways, and also walk through pedestrian streets and see the city’s important historic buildings. During the tour we will see:
The Stock Exchange building, the House of the Pink Tower, the House of Henry IV, the facade of Delorme’s galleries, Saint John the Baptist Cathedral and square, the facades of Saint Paul and Saint George churches, the Lawyers’ House, Jewish Street, the railway station building, the Thomassin House, the facades of 16th-century buildings in the “flamboyant Gothic” style, the House of the Lion, the Maye House, the Gadagne Palace, and other sights. Free time in Lyon. Then departure to Dijon. After arrival, a walk around the city with the group leader. Check-in at the hotel. Overnight in Dijon.
Day 6
6 Stop 1 Colmar
Breakfast at the hotel. Departure for Colmar. Arrival and accommodation at the hotel. Free time in Colmar to explore and enjoy the city on your own. If desired, an optional excursion to Strasbourg, the “capital of united Europe,” is offered. Strasbourg is one of the most beautiful and wonderfully preserved old cities in France. The city’s historic center is located on an island formed by the Ill River. The river later joins the Rhine. Strasbourg has been known in history since Roman times under the name Argentoratum. Roman soldiers established their military camp here. The entire historic center of the city is included on the UNESCO World Heritage List. Then return to the hotel. If desired, an optional excursion in Colmar is also organized, during which you will get acquainted with the history, architecture, and main sights of this fairy-tale city. Overnight stay in Colmar.
Day 7
7 Stop 1 Reims
Breakfast at the hotel. Departure for Reims, the heart of the Champagne region and the capital of French sparkling wines. A walk through the city's historic center with the group leader or a sightseeing tour accompanied by a licensed guide. Reims is a city with around 2,000 years of history, where exceptional examples of medieval, Roman, and Gothic art have been preserved to this day. During the tour, we will see the city's main attractions, including the Basilica of Saint-Remi and, of course, the famous Notre-Dame de Reims Cathedral (Notre-Dame de Reims). Then departure for Paris. Accommodation at a hotel in Paris or in the surrounding area of the city. Overnight in Paris.
Day 8
8 Stop 1 Return
Breakfast at the hotel. Transfer to the airport. End of the tour.
