About this tour
Two-day hike to Khndzoresk and Goris: rock-cut houses, churches, a swinging bridge, and the old streets of Goris.
The total length of the hike is 22 km. Suitable for experienced hikers.
Participants are advised to wear hiking shoes and comfortable clothing, a protective hat, warm clothes, spare shoes, trekking poles, a first aid kit, a raincoat, and a flashlight.
Itinerary
Day 1
1 Stop 1 Goris, Khndzoresk
The hike begins from Khndzoresk village to Old Khndzoresk. Incredible views: fortresses, historic churches — St. Hripsime and St. Thaddeus, and the rock-cut houses in caves tell legendary stories of ancient times. We will walk across the swinging bridge and visit the tomb of Mkhitar Sparapet. At the end of the day, we will stay in Goris and take a city tour, exploring the old streets and museums.
Day 2
2 Stop 1 From Hartashen to Old Goris
On the second day, the hike begins from Hartashen village to Azatashen and St. Nubar Church, passing through scenic gorges toward Old Goris. Along the way, we will see unique stunning views and get a sense of the breath of ancient times.
