About this tour
Join our group tour combining a visit to Tatev Monastery with a scenic hike to the Great Hermitage of Tatev. We’ll spend approximately 40 minutes exploring the monastery complex before beginning our descent along a winding trail toward the hermitage.
This easy, approximately 6 km hike offers an opportunity to enjoy the surrounding nature and discover another side of Tatev on foot.

Itinerary
1 Stop 1 Luch Stop
Enjoy a break for lunch with time to relax and try Armenian dishes before continuing the tour. The cost of lunch is not included in the tour price.
2 Stop 2 Tatev Monastery
Our first stop is Tatev Monastery, overlooking the Vorotan Gorge. We’ll spend approximately 40 minutes exploring the monastery complex, admiring its stone architecture and enjoying views of the surrounding mountains before beginning our hike to the Great Hermitage of Tatev.
3 Stop 3 Hike to the Great Hermitage of Tatev
From Tatev Monastery, we’ll follow a winding trail downhill toward the Great Hermitage of Tatev. The approximately 6 km hike combines an easy walking route with views of the surrounding landscape, ending with a visit to the secluded monastery complex. Comfortable hiking shoes with a good grip are recommended for the descent.
