The birthplace of an Armenian poet, writer, translator, and literary and public activist Hovhannes Tumanyan (1869-1923) in Dsegh village of Lori province was turned into House-Museum in 1939. Nearly 300 precious items representing the activity and life of the great writer are preserved here. The bust of the poet (created by A. Urartu, in 1953) is placed in the yard of the house-museum. A chapel, where the heart of the poet is preserved, was also constructed here in 1994.
