Erebuni Historical and Archeological Reserve-Museum was founded in 1968 on October 19, at the 2750th anniversary of Yerevan. The museum was created on the basis of the three ancient settlements, Arin Fortress, Red Hill and Shengavit, located on the administrative borders of Yerevan and on the basis of the remains of material culture discovered in these settlements. The Reserve-Museum is currently operating in the Red Hill and Shengavit branches. It is a very important urartology center in the region.

The Erebuni Museum collection consists of Arin fortress, Karmir Blur, Shengavit old town, and includes more than 12,758 archaeological objects, grouped into 161 collections, dating back to pre-Urartian, Urartian, Ahemenidian, Hellenistic, and Armenian eras, found during excavations or periodical studies in various regions of Armenia.
