Artavazik Church (7th century) is located in the gorge, not far from Byurakan village. The building has a cross-dome construction, it was made of red and black local tufa stone. An elegant bell tower was added above the western entrance of the church in the 13th century. The door and window openings, as well as the corner parts of the church, are laid out smoothly with hewn stone, and the stone for the walls has been processed more roughly. Unfortunately, the church was almost completely destroyed by flood in 1840. Only the ruins of a once majestic building have survived to this day.

According to the writings, the church was called Artavazik in honor of the constructor. The church is in ruins today. The narthex and the dome are destroyed.
