We offer the most memorable and emotion-filled way to celebrate Vardavar!
Vardavar is one of the most beloved traditional Armenian holidays. Originally, it was dedicated to Astghik, the goddess of water, love, fertility, and beauty, symbolized by the rose. After the adoption of Christianity, the holiday came to represent the Transfiguration of Christ, with the tradition of pouring water symbolizing spiritual cleansing.
Located on the slopes of Mount Aragats, at an altitude of about 3000 meters above sea level, the stunning Gegharot Waterfall awaits us. We’ll drive by off-road vehicle to the village of Aragats, and from there hike approximately 2 km to reach the waterfall.
P.S. Participants are advised to wear hiking shoes and comfortable clothes, bring a protective hat, sunglasses, sunscreen, enough food and water for one day, as well as a change of clothes and shoes.
