Established in 2004 in Gyumri, the Mher Mkrtchyan Museum is dedicated to the legendary Armenian theater and film actor, offering a deeper understanding of his life and creative path. Its main goal is to present the lesser-known sides of the artist, offer a fresh view of his art, and highlight his legacy. The museum’s collection is constantly expanding with new items that enrich the portrait of Mkrtchyan. Visitors can see many of his stage costumes from iconic films such as Our Childhood Tango and The Orchestra Boys, which are especially popular with fans. Also on display are his awards, photographs, books, personal items, letters, and copies of important documents. In 2007, the actor’s granddaughter, Irene Terteryan, donated about 1,500 personal items to the museum, significantly expanding the collection. The museum regularly hosts events, academic and cultural gatherings, thematic afternoons, and lecture-readings involving educational and public organizations.
