Martiros circular route (rock-cut church, Margalich)

Join us on an exciting hike to one of the hidden gems of Vayots Dzor – the village of Martiros.Our journey will begin in Martiros and continue toward Old Martiros, a site rich with history.

Not far from here, we will discover the second-largest rock-hewn church in Armenia. Along the way, we’ll also visit Margalich, where you’ll experience the enchanting beauty of Vayots Dzor’s landscapes. The hike will conclude at the Church of the Holy Mother of God in Martiros.

P.S. The total hiking distance is about 10 km. Participants are advised to wear sports shoes and comfortable clothing, bring a protective hat, sunglasses, food and water for one day (2–3 liters), warm clothing, an extra pair of shoes, trekking poles, a first aid kit, a raincoat, and a flashlight.
