Driving along the Yerevan-Garni highway, you can see the Charents Arch on the right side of the road on a hill. The monument is named after the great Armenian poet and great patriot Yeghishe Charents. It is believed that he often visited this place and loved to enjoy the fantastic scenery opening from here. Simple at first glance, the stone arch is actually a very interesting monument. The fact is that from here a stunning view of the great biblical mountain Ararat opens all day long. Therefore, the second name of the monument is the Arch of Ararat. This place is a favorite and popular attraction. Tourists visiting Armenia come here to enjoy the breathtaking views and take photos.

The Arch of Charents, also known as Arch of Ararat, is located at an altitude of 1500 meters in the village of Voghjaberd in Kotayk province. This monument is included in the list of historical and cultural landmarks of Voghjaberd.
Once the architect Rafael Israelian on the way to Garni noticed from the car that a beautiful view of Mount Ararat was seen from the hill of the village Voghjaberd. The architect got out of the car, went up the hill and decided to build an arch.
The lines from the poem of the famous Armenian poet Yegishe Charents are carved on the arch. Therefore, the monument is known to people as Arch of Charents.
