A hiking trip to Azat Reservoir is a scenic route through one of the most impressive natural landscapes near Yerevan.
Azat Reservoir is located in Armenia’s Ararat Province, near Lanjazat village, on the Azat River, at an altitude of about 1,050 meters above sea level. The area is known for its open mountain views, rugged hills, calm blue water, and beautiful photo spots.
Depending on the chosen trail, the hike can also be combined with the Azat River Gorge, Garni area, and the famous basalt formations known as the Symphony of Stones.
❗ATTENTION Hiking difficulty: moderate. Distance: approximately 10 km. The route may include open sunny areas, dirt paths, rocky sections, and uphill/downhill parts. Comfortable hiking shoes, water, sun protection, and weather-appropriate clothing are required.
