TOP 7 ATTRACTIONS OF THE CITY OF TSAGHKADZOR AND ITS SURROUNDINGS

The resort town of Tsaghkadzor welcomes tourists both in summer and winter. Kecharis monastery complex (11-13th century) is the main attraction of Tsaghkadzor. The complex includes four churches, two chapels, a narthex and an old cemetery, where you can see many khachkars (cross-stones) of 12-13 centuries. There you can see many birches growing on the territory of the monastery and in its environs. “Birch” in Armenian is called “ketchy”. That is why the monastery got its name “Kecharis”.

Ski Resort

Tsaghkadzor becomes a favorite resort city for both tourists and residents of Armenia in winter. The picturesque slopes of Mount Teghenis invite you to ski, sledge or snowboard. “Snow” activities like riding a snowmobile or ATV are available.
