Yeghegnadzor Reserve was established in 1971, with a total area of 4200 hectares. It is located in the Yeghegis River basin, at a height of 1200-2800 meters above sea level. It was created to protect forest landscapes and rare animals. Any activity that violates ecosystem or the protection of the objects of special scientific and cultural value of the reserve is forbiden.
The well-established transport infrastructure of Armenia allows to get to Yeghegnadzor Reserve by a private car or with the help of various travel companies which offer regular excursions and tours to different sights of the country. Due to the geographical location of Yeghegnadzor Reserve the trip will not seem long.
The high season in Armenia lasts for a long time due to the pleasant climate conditions. Warm days in Armenia start in March and last until late autumn; winter is usually snowless and not long. The high precipitation season is variable. The tourist season for Yeghegnadzor Reserve depends on the weather conditions.
