The first stop of the special pilgrimage will be St. Khach Church in Aparan, also known as “Kasakh Basilica”. Then we will head to Lori region, where we will start our pilgrimage from the foot of the Tzhgnavor Mountain. The legends and stories being told about the St. Hovhannes Chapel in Hartagyugh, which is 2157 meters high, are increasing day by day. There are many stories about the saint’s miraculous power, accomplished goals, healed patients, and pregnant women. The locals assure that if you visit the chapel with faith, your dreams and wishes will come true. The chapel was built in 1958 on the spot where the body of St. John is buried. On the way back we will have a stop in Letters Park, which is a unique monument of the Armenian alphabet.
Please note that this is a pilgrimage, we are expecting a 6 km long, medium difficulty hike.Participants are advised to wear sneakers, comfortable shoes, warm clothes, wear a protective cap, and have the necessary food and water for the day.
