4. Tsrviz or Moro-Dzoro chapel (village Lusahovit)Ijevan Dendropark was founded in 1962. There are nearly 650 types of trees and bushes, which were mostly
imported from China, Japan and Northern America. You can also see the only Hazel Forests trail in the world.
Next destination of the tour will be the village Achajur of Tavush province, next to which the magnificent monastery
complex Makaravank is hidden beyond tall trees. Makaravank is a 10th to 13th century church complex and has its
own place in Armenian architecture with the uniqueness of its traceries .
Next stop will be in village Aknaghbyur. Here is preserved a tree which has become a place pilgrimage and according
to people it was planted by Vardan Mamikonyan. A tree has been planted in the same place by USSR Marshal
Hovhannes Baghramyan, and next to it there is a new-built chapel with the name St. Vardan.
The last point of the tour will be the unique chapel Tsrviz or Moro-Dzoro which is situated in nearby gardens of
Lusahovit village of Tavush province. The chapel was built in 5th century, was reconstructed during the 12th and
13th centuries and became one of the spiritual centers of the province Mahkanaberd.
