Echmiatsin – Aygeshat – Amberd – Voskevaz – Voskehat – Oshakan
On Sunday, on the 30th of March an interesting and unique tour is expected during which we will admire the treasures kept in Mayr Ator and the variety of pictograms in Voskehat.
At the beginning of the tour we will be in Echmiatsin and will visit Treasure House-Museum of the monastery where numerous valuable items, samples of both church and applied arts, chalices, altar curtains, relics, dresses, pendants, crosses, old Armenian carpets, clay pots and wooden carvings are displayed.
During the tour we will visit the ruins of ancient churches as Targmanchats (Translators) church (VII century) in Aygeshat village and Tovma Apostle’s church in Amberd village (XII-XIX centuries).
After that we are expected to have an interesting hiking tour to pictograms’ “field”, where we will see unique creations of the people who lived in 3rd millennium BC.
During the tour we will see the ruins of downcast church and nearby vishapakar located on the upper bank of the river Kasakhas well as the ruins of ancient Aghtamar fortress.
At the end of the tour we will visit St. Sargis fortress-church (XVII-XIX centuries) in Voskehat and St. Hovhannes church (VII-XIII centuries) in Voskevaz.
