On the 27th of April One Way Tour offers an interesting route to Kotayk region in the Republic of Armenia during which we will experience an exciting and somewhat still unknown number of monuments in Armenia. Besides, we will spend a good time in nature.
At the beginning of the tour we will visit Nurnus village (historical Nrnunis) where we will see the ruins of medieval ancient settlements and the cozy church in the Canyon of Hrazdan River.
Then we will begin our hiking tour through Hrazdan canyon where numerous interesting caves are located. Some of them are ancient Stone Age monuments. The road passes near Hrazdan reservoir, nearby which Argel hydropower plant (formerly Gyumush), that is the largest hydropower plant in Armenia, is located.
From here we will continue our way from the picturesque canyon of Hrazdan to medieval Karenis monastery, where, according to the legend, the relics of the evangelist Matthew and the apostle Andrew are saved.
We will have a rest in Hrazdan canyon, near the river, where there are many and diverse Obsidian stones, which are called “devil’s nail”.
After having rest we will go to Arzakan village where the remarkable Neghuts monastery, surrounded by wooded mountains, and known for few of us the ruins of Ghuk or Bolorahar monastery are expected to visit.
